Helping Japan is on so many people’s minds and hearts, since last week’s devastating earthquakes and resulting tsunamis.  The situation is almost beyond belief in its severity and complexity, yet there are things we can do to help.

First of all, the best thing anyone can do is pray.  Send Light, peace, thoughts of love and healing.  This one action is very needed.  While feelings of grief and loss are normal, try not to stay with them.  Limit how much TV you watch; repeated views of disasters only serves to feed anxiety and does nothing to help you or anyone else.

Secondly, there are many organizations and individuals who are offering assistance of all kinds.  Here are some of the links where you can find legitimate groups whose work and practices are well recognized.  During tough economic times if you are going to contribute for relief efforts, you want to know that your money will reach those most in need.

If you are feeling personally overwhelmed and challenged by the enormity of the disaster, I can offer two additional suggestions from my company’s toolbox:

1.  Flower Essences. We have a lovely formula called Grief and Loss.  It doesn’t take away the pain, but it helps you deal with it and process it.  Another formula you might want to consider is Stress Busters — which is just like it sounds; it helps you process and release the overwhelm of stress.  There are hundreds of other formulas for both humans and animals (remember, animals also respond and react to high levels of stress too.)

You can get the flower essences here:

2.  One of the main things that seems to be happening for people is trying to fight against negativity.  This one is particularly tough, since so much of the global news is so dreadful.  I am by no means suggesting we should all go around acting like everything is all right — when clearly it isn’t.  But neither do we need sink into pits of despair.

Here is what I can offer that removes negativity, clears your space, and uplifts your spirits.  It’s got kind of a funny name — but don’t let that fool you. It is a powerful formula, based on traditional Native American herbs and created by a Native American healer. All the ingredients are either 100% organic from sustainable sources or wildcrafted, so you can be assured that it is safe for you and the planet.

We sold a lot of this after 9/11, to mothers of children who were having nightmares.  it worked for them and it works now for this, too.

I might also mention that last year Blue Eagle added bath products to the line as well; their organic bath salts with fleur-de-sel sea salt and jojoba oil will soak all the tired and stress right out of your bones!  And if you happen to prefer showers?  Gotcha covered there, too — try the body wash with sea salt.  Both are heavenly.

Now you know where to find help.  Go get some comfort for yourself and your family — and give as generously as you can to one of the organizations helping with the recovery in Japan.

If you missed my last post on radiation sickness, you will want to check that out too.  Here it is.

Thanks for reading, and please let me know if you find other tools and groups that are worthy of support for Japan relief.  Leave them in the comments section below.
